As a six-week-old infant, Nina contracted HIV through a blood transfusion. Thirty years later, she has dedicated herself to HIV awareness and prevention. While studying at Georgetown University, she participated in the Georgetown University AIDS Coalition, which is group that attempts to demystify HIV and AIDS as well as provide support for those living with it in DC. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Georgetown. She has worked at the CDC in sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, and on The U.S. People Living with HIV Stigma Index in addition to studying epidemiology at Emory University. A long-time member of Team Grassroot, our running program, Nina is ready to become even more involved in TGP by sharing her experiences and giving a new perspective to the organization.
