The Inaugural Grassroots Gala
In September 2017, The Grassroot Project won the opportunity to partner with Hexagon – a local nonprofit organization that was founded in 1955. The organization is composed of people from all walks of life whose primary purpose is to compose and stage an all-original political, satirical, musical comedy revue annually, both for entertainment, and to raise money for local charities. The Grassroot Project is honored to have been chosen to be Hexagon’s 2018 beneficiary. From March 2nd to 24th, the Hexagon cast will be performing at the Woodrow Wilson High School here in Washington, DC, and all proceeds made from ticket sales will be donated to The Grassroot Project.
As part of TGP’s partnership with Hexagon – and as an effort to maximize the fundraising potential of this opportunity – TGP will be hosting its inaugural gala on March 10th at the American University Washington School of Law. The Grassroots Gala will bring together donors and partners of TGP, Grassroots alumni from all over the country, their friends and family, as well as Hexagon members and supporters, to enjoy an evening together supporting TGP. A special feature of this event will be a silent auction featuring items from local businesses, sport paraphernalia and even a vacation in Cozumel, Mexico! Following the gala, all guests will be invited to see the Hexagon cast in action as they showcase their artistry at the Woodrow Wilson High School theatre. We would like to invite you all to experience this event with us. The money raised through this partnership will be put towards the improvement of TGP programming from student-athlete recruitment to the facilitation of programs and beyond!
